About Rose: I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

2.36am, wednesday
gosh, i'm still up. i bet i won't be up tomorrow till about noon. it's the damned rain at wimbledon that keeps delaying matches. matches aren't too exciting though, but oh well, i can't exactly get to sleep either. i spent the larger part of the day calling people up to enquire about procedures to a visa application or medical examination. it's terribly exhausting and daunting to do all this, at the same time it dawns on you that you are really leaving. and then of course, nothing goes as hoped, complications arise and before you know it you're scrambling for a flight back to singapore to settle things. and of course, like sand through the hourglass so are the days of our lives. In true soap opera fashion, ever so melodramatic, i find myself at wits end at the realisation that there aren't any flights back for another week. *sigh* i really wonder how school will be like. on a candid note, i could envision myself, hands akimbo, in front of my wardrobe with a discerning eye, wondering what to wear. pondering, which mules will go with which ensemble. at the very same time, i'd be very much nervous and afraid of not knowing a SINGLE person, of not knowing what to expect from my course of study. realising that any queries about work could not simply be answered with a simple phonecall to jh. or a craving for a certain steak could not be satiated with simpang with nic and kin. oh yes "look for the silver lining", easy for chet baker to say. oh well, the sun comes up, they pull the rain sheets back and the players come on court again. wimbledon resumes and is back in action and perhaps so will i.

no one ever said it would be this hard..
oh take me back to the start"
