tgif :) it has been a long week but a fairly good one. things has been looking up indeed but lets hope i'm not jinxing things by saying that. heh. spent 2 hours photo copying book after book for readings. jh was right about swimming in paperwork. but i'm liking it :) i like law. but i find myself asking whether i'll be any good. i often feel that i'm constantly settling for second best. i rather not expound further on my insecurities and instead muster all that i can and surge ahead. what else can i do? i'm trying to be more appreciative and thankful for the friends and people around me but it's much harder to do so when they're so far away. hmm.. on another note, i met a guy at the train station who hobbled to the bench i was sitting on. with a wide grin, he told me how he'd just hurt his already injured knee that he had dislocated when he was 15. he was very graphic about the 2 metal screws which help keep his knee cap in alignment. he told me more about himself and went on to narrate how he had spent 3 years in the israel army. his job he said was "to pick up after the dead bodies. you know, fingers, head, limbs.. it all goes in the bag". he never saw life the same way again. we all know that these things happen but never think that we'll actually meet someone, first hand, who's been through such a chilling experience. it's makes me realise- we're damned lucky. i guess sometimes we all lack perspective. i'm not in such a terrible position really. well, enjoy your weekend :)

i'm doing the best that I can..
I've got to admit it's getting better,
a little better all the time"
