12.58pm; monday
i woke up to the annoying alarm of my phone and realised it was already 12. *gasp* boy do i sleep a lot. last night my brother brought over 4 friends to watch soccer and they were screaming intermittently everytime some player got close to scoring a goal. and so it was a boy's night, thumbing away at the game cube and ps2 the whole night AND morning, till 9 am. and they were using the laptops to play gunbound as well. i think if my brother hadn't left his xbox in s'pore they'd still be here now. i remember asking my brother why anyone should need an xbox, ps2, game cube and some gameboy thing all at the same time. weren't they all the same? he looked at me, narrowed his eyes, ready to answer my question with a barrage of answers, when he suddenly said "why do you need so many shoes?". And so that was it. i understood that boys needed their toys and i, well, need my shoes. it was one of those rare, albeit fleeting, moments where men were not from mars and women, venus.
i whiled the entire weekend away. it was good but made me feel supremely guilty. but how could i not? alicia keys was simply kickass in concert and she dances really well too. she sounds sooo good live and i might even put up the clip of her singing "if i ain't got you" if i ever figure out how to upload it. heh. she was blooming good. and sunday, they were running sex & the city for 24 hrs. so i watched one episode after another, swearing at 7pm that that would be the last one, and yet at 10 pm i was still watching carrie cry over mr big and coohing over her new pair of manolos. many episodes later, and after spending far too much time on the phone, i got my arse down to working and did a problem on statutory interpretation. i hope i'm getting it right and my fears for this law paper is reminiscent of the anxieties i had for prac crit/donne/shakespeare all rolled into one. and though on hindsight you can tell me i did do pretty alright for lit, i'm not entirely sure it's the same for this paper. hmm, i shall study my my ass off and the only tv for today will be queer eye.... and friends.
