5.20 pm; monday

i went to sorrento over the weekend and it was sooo good :) ate the best fish and chips (it did say d'lish fish) and had it out at the backbeach. was really nice to get away from the city and just spend my time looking out at the bay. saturday morning was spent on the boat and the boys did some wake boarding. i didn't have a wet suit so i couldn't go in. pretty sure i would be flopping about quite miserably even if i had one. either that or i would just have froze my toes off in the water. the weather wasn't the best with intermittent showers over the 2 days but everything else was perfect :). i cooked pancakes (were pretty good!) and scrambled some eggs for lunch and whiled the cold rainy afternoon away lazing about instead of squidding. sorrento was really beautiful, everywhere we went, the waves would caress the shore and the view at night was magical as the distance was peppered with lights from houses on the other side of the bay. we went to the bakery sunday morning and got pizza rolls, a quiche and an elephant's foot. you see an 'elephant foot' is shaped like one, glazed with icing, stuffed with caramelized apples and topped with cherries.. the sweetest sin! we took the board and paddles out in the afternoon and did some kayaking. i squirmed my way into a wet suit and it wasn't long before i felt it was too cold to be in the water. we walked along the beach, overturning rocks, looking for crabs but found none :| and before long, the weekend was over, gone too soon, just like you.

as moonlight through the pines,
oh my my I said it’s just an old sweet song,
keeps georgia on my mind... "
