10.02pm; sunday
it's a new year, and it calls for resolutions to be made but oh well, let's skip that. i am however learning everyday of how lucky and privilleged i am to be safe and happy. been meeting up quite a bit (pics are up, see link: photo) in the midst of my stint at the subordinate court which was really good. just sitting in court watching in awe of the dpp & the defence counsel argue their cases, and then go into chambers where my dad's friend would ask me for my opinion on the sentences he had meted out. it really reaffirms my wanting to do well in criminal law- let's do it then! :) i met up with kairen, collin and thaddeus and we spent the afternoon watching 3 movies, munching on crackers and a whole pint of choc choc chip ice cream. we then had dinner at lagoon and coconut in tow, we later took a walk to the pier, talked and had a good time. nye was sex and the city smothered in a lot of food, laughing at samantha's sexcapades- haha, oh man. then came new years where the class gathered with bala and lau. it was so good to meet up with everyone and we ended up reminiscing about tj, missing breakfast sets, lectures and how we mustered to get by each day with our essays and tutorials due. and now, all of us are in uni getting on with our lives. and as i refrain from saying something cheesy like "we've all grown so much", i can't help but realise that we're all really moving on and wonder whether friendships remain as dynamic as our lives are. it is not the mere disintegration of friendships that bothers me but rather the inability/difficulty for friendships to assimilate into our progressive lives where factors like distance, mandatory obligations i.e. circumstances are imminent in splintering friendships. friends are really my keepsakes and after having been an indian ocean away for the larger part of the year, i've learnt to really love them so much more.. each and everyone :) well, let's sum up 2004 in pictures then! i'm off to bangkok in a few days and there awaits me throngs of shopping buys and things can't get better than that! well it could.. being awoken by your phonecall for one ;)
"Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain
You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun"
