the ski lift! it was splendid to ascend into the clouds and to the mountains basking in the sunshine. of course any moment i was petrified i would fall off or let go of my skis or ski poles, which i did on the second day, and i later had to shout down to a skier to grab it for me.

grabbing on tight to our dear lives up the ski lift. up, up and away.

where we all are. it was such good weather the first day. reckon it was about 2 degrees. winds weren't terribly strong and where we amateurs skied (tried to at least) in perfect weather.

oh man, this was the steep ass slope venetia and me found ourselves at. we were ambitious one-day-old skiers and when we were one-third of our way down with 3 falls between us, we looked down the slopes dejected and helpless; wondering how in the world we'd ever ski down without breaking our necks or skiing into the professionals. there was no way back up, so we had to ski down. our boots kept coming off the bindings, and after tumbling many, many times and almost 2 hours (half the time was spent just sitting in the snow either trying to put our skis back on or psyching ourselves up) later, we finally got off that slope and stuck to the more manageable trails.

decapitated snowman they built yesterday now missing a head! frosty won't be too happy being headless.

day three, all fogged out. none of us skied because we had returned our parka/pants and our skis. besides it was minus 2 and bleeding cold and poor visibility makes me ansty.

but there were still plenty snowboarders having snowball fights and queueing up for the chair lifts up the mountains.

oooh, little snowmen by the edge on the deck :)
