About Rose: I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

4.30pm; saturday
for fear of further being the butt (good pun nic) of all jokes *looks at tagboard* i have removed that very dubious picture of my bruised inner thigh. and no shikin, you are not my ass :) friday, i went down for the IL review session and this eric wilson is one helluva smart guy. i've only been this impressed with one other teacher and that was mr elwin. he really makes you think and mid way through discussing the paper he alluded the eternal question of IL to philosophy and there he was juxtaposing aristotle and plato, then he moved on to descartes: rationalism, hume: empericism and finally kant: idealism. all this to illustrate a very salient point. of course i didn't know who on earth descartes and hume were, let alone their works (had to google them in); save for kant. i know public il isn't practical but screw it, i'm going to do it.
shopped a bit on my way home and in my bid to find nice buys (spring/ summer is out!), i got new sunnies, belts and a baugette (the bag, not the bread). then i came across this Oxfam store at bourke st. everything's a bit more expensive but i reckon i'd rather spend an extra $3 on a bar of organic chocolate if it's going to help things out. jolene, i think you'll enjoy going to this store a lot :) they have postcards with all the stars advocating fair trade (chris martin amongst them, of course) and well, i guess knowing i'm doing my bit on making trade fair mitigates the fact that i've been stuffing my face with their dark chocolate. wasn't doing too good last night and well the bittersweet dark chocolate pretty much encapsulated things. nicole, thanks.
