3 papers down and there’s just torts left. i'm just left drained and incredibly void sometimes. meaw came over friday after human rights paper to show her the apartment. prepared and cooked dinner for the guest and had a sleepover watching dvds. Decided that since she’d be staying at my apartment for the summer I’d might as well show her around the city too. we caught pride & prejudice (reminder: must catch bbc/ colin firth version) at the new hoyts and oh i love their swanky seats... oh mr darcy. then i brought her to ngv. they had just brought in an exhibit from the tate and so we spent the rest of the afternoon walking about the winding halls. i had wanted to check out albrecht durer again but realised meaw wasn’t up for it when she suggested we go down to chinatown instead to satiate some of her cravings. Decided just as well since Ifigured I should rush back home to get a coat for the night since it was (surprisingly) getting cold and the skies were overcast. sent her off, grabbed a coat from home and when I reached federation square at 7 to meet the birthday girl & friends we ended up waiting and waiting and waiting for a table at 'chocolate buddha' (believe it or not it's a sushi place, go figure). in that one and a half hour wait, we all just sat by the ledge, watching everyone back from derby day who were in the city to party. we had a laugh cooing and cringing at girls in their dresses and hats- from exquisite splendour to fashion faux paus. the food was good but considering i broke fast only at 830 (instead of 6.52) i bet anything would have been good. decided against clubbing with the rest after dinner, i was far too tired and so hopped onto a tram and made my way home. and as the drizzle wore on, i watched the city get cold in the rain. i finally reached my stop, got off and as i walked home in the rain.. it was the best part of the day.
