12.45pm; saturday

that's the scary part about living alone (most of the time). someone (i hope) knocked at the door, twice. and i asked who was it but there was no answer. thank god this is not happening at night because i would totally freak out. the apartments here really should have a peep hole for the doors. although, i'm not sure i will like what i see on the other side of the door. ai-yai-yai.

on another note, it's already saturday and the one week break whizzed past just like that. i had planned i'd finish revising and get exam notes done for crim, torts and contract but instead i have been slaving away at my damned 4000 words essay. it's almost done, just tying up some loose ends and i have to get the negotiation report finalised too. it's just another 3 weeks to the exams, oh no. that sounds terrible. i'm not nearly worried yet although i'm sure i will be soon enough. was reading the beatles authorized biography by hunter davies nicole & kin got me (merci beaucoup!) and i just flipped to the back and read the bit where they started breaking up.

it always gets to me, that bit. Yet i remind myself that everything will run its course be it our very existence, relationships or even the best musical group in history (now let's not dispute that they are). it got really harsh when everything started falling apart and each beatle has such conflicting accounts on who really caused the break up. was it yoko? paul forcing everything too much? i guess i wince the most on how john and paul fell apart. sometimes i wished that the beatles all crashed in an airplane after making 'let it be', then things would have never had to sour the way it did. kinda like jfk, everyone remembers this picture of camelot- him, jackie, john john and caroline. and yet, we forget that if he had served a second term, the vietnam war would have caught on, civil unrest in the south that he only narrowly managed to resolve would pose an even bigger problem and let's face it, the whole marilyn thing would have soon exploded in his face. yet everyone only remembers him for defusing tension in the cuban missile crisis and the fairy tale facade he and jackie lived in the white house.

john was the brazen, witty one. george never really liked the fame surrounding the beatles but i felt that lyrically, he wrote the best songs; he had a great quietude about him. ringo, was simply the greatest drummer- ringo rules :) and paul, paul was the beatle i loved so much for a long time. and yet, i'm glad if anything, they left great great music behind. in my life, i've loved them all.
