sweet dreams are made of these- this is the reason why i walk in one hour late into a lecture with a huge silly grin on my face, totally unabashed. they were giving out 10, 000 krispy kremes at qv yesterday morning and the queue was incredibly looooong. as i walked past people who had given up queueing, i heard them chant repeatedly, trying to convince themselves (quite unsuccessfully)- "it's only a doughnut, it's only a doughnut". mez, ever so resourceful, managed to grab the attention of the organiser and they interviewed her and brought her to the front of the queue. they even gave her a krispy kreme tshirt. with me right behind, i thanked the man handing out the doughnuts profusely and then gratefully sank my teeth into them. i can't wait till june when they finally open up a store in the city. hohoho.

a day in the life- it was incredibly hot yesterday and i had to wear a sweatshirt. Heat notwithstanding, the loud music reverberating through the law building didn't do much to help us stay focused in class. when class was over, i walked over and just as i had expected, out on the lawns were students, drinks in hand waiting for food to be barbequed. it would have been lovely to bask in the sun and lunch with friends but i dragged myself to the next class. law of the seas was 3 hours (!) long and there's an overwhelming amount of work to do for it, with an assignment already due next week.

build me up buttercup- i met up with ven on weds and we got ourselves some chicken at nando's for dinner. good food always taste even better over heartening conversations. but being the smarty pants that we both were, we didn't bring a jacket out and so sought refuge at qv when it got colder and ended up grocery shopping and eventually at her place with tea, meeting rebecca, sharing laughs and simply talking. i guess when you're 'caught up in circles, confusion is nothing new' but it's a been a pretty great first week at school, weather has been great, i've had my fix of krispy kremes and so... and so.
