i am going to rant (you have been forewarned). today was the first day of classes and.... *deep breath*
the laptop screwed up on me beeping ever so loudly, intermittently, while i was trying to start it up. everyone turns to look at me and while i smile sheepishly, they begin to turn away, but the clunk of metal in front of me beeps loudly, AGAIN. And evidence is being lectured in the science block. why the hell that is i have no idea because it's annoying having to scuttle from the law building to the very faraway science block. and how come they have such fancy lect halls? and despite all the swanky design, no one had the ingenuity for ergnomic and people- friendly lect seats/ tables. the science lecture theatres have those tables that you pull towards you from a metal block that stands erect behind the seat directly in front of you. of course your knees painfully knock into them everytime you try to keep them together and so i have to sit with my legs spread apart for an hour and a half every tues and weds *disgruntled*. i can only imagine the amount of lollies i'll need to sustain me through the 3hr (!) property lect on fri. there is so much work to start on it's not even funny. oh who am i kidding... i miss home.
alright, it wasn't all that bad. int'l org was the saving grace and as much of a geek as i'm going to sound, i'm looking forward to the 3 classes we have a week. we're going to have a mock security council session to present our 1600 memo sometime soon and so dr E (as he calls himself) tells us to get into groups of 4-5 to which he'd later assign a country. he encourages mixing around and then says "if i find all 5 members are Australians, i'm making that group Italy". hur hur. okay i'm off to do some work.
