we didn't finish watching the matches today. it got too tiring, having been there since 11 and all afternoon the past 2 days. i'm not complaining but we're all looking a little charred. but watching roddick play murray earlier in the day was such a thrill. there were great plays (and terrible ones). there was one bit where roddick volleyed across the court and the ball was sure to hit murray and so roddick yelled "get down!" and murray fell, sprawled across the court and the crowd erupted in laughter and applause. but of course i had to be getting myself a baked potato with sour cream and cheese when that happened and so when i came back yolanda went "you missed a great point!" :( and went on to give me a play-by-play.

but i love the game so much. it's the crowds that intensifies with players like federer/ roddick/ safin. with every yell of "come on roddick!" there'll certainly be a "go murray!" to counter it. and there's always the antics of players. whether it was gonzalez winning an amazing point by hitting the ball between his legs and across the net or safin screaming in frustration with a double fault call or an unforced error, it was equally riveting. and there's the moments spent waiting at the player's exit to catch a glimpse of them much closer .
pair that with sunny lunches and dripping popsicles and you have me making a resolution to watch all four grand slams at one point or another.
