About Rose: I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

i'm back in melb and the break back in sg was really good for me. apart from the bit where i stuffed my face silly and watched wimbledon endlessly there was the rush to meet up with friends. i guess this onslaught of photos will make up for the fact that i'll probably be whinging about school for a long time to come so yeah. (if i owe you guys any pics, just click on the titles for more)
And as trying setting everything up and co-ordinating schedules were, the reminiscing, laughing over inside jokes and knowing how good everyone is was just so good.
It's been almost ten years since I've met and gotten to know these girls from cedar but we still keep on talking and talking. And for the most part it's heartwarming to hear someone say "you're still the same!" as we break out into raucous laughter
there was also turning twenty two and for all the wishes, effort and gifts it is mucho mucho appreciated. had dinner over at corals and we spent the bulk of it laughing awfully hard at our antics while struggling with playing taboo. and better than any dinner/ present/ surprise, i honestly (as cheesy as this might be) enjoy the company best :)
I met up with siti after what it seemed like forever and it was exciting to know that in just a couple of weeks she'd be heading on to another chapter of her life and to mark the end of singlehood (feather boa and all) we coerced her into doing many (funny) things. we partied it up and wished her only the best. there was the bit back in the hotel room where we were all just taking pictures and striking the funniest of poses while trying to retain our composure. and in those moments i realised just how much i've missed her as a friend!
i revelled in (more) laughter and good times and had a lovely, lovely birthday dinner (complete with live jazz music and all) followed by drinks at city space, equinox. i know i may not burst out in a squeal of surprise or gush at the sentiment and tend to bury my head in embarrassment instead when say, 8 waiters burst out singing happy birthday while presenting me with a cake at pregos, but that hardly is any indication of how much i love and really do enjoy each gift (immensely) and surprise (throughly).
in between, there was the harry potter movie, suppers at simpang and more good times with this bunch of mine. And when you guys came all the way down to celebrate albeit for just a while, it was just as special as the longchamp bag i'm now wearing to death. haha. what would i do without you legendary (hurhur, i'm finally in on it) people.
but here I am back in the dastardly winter that is melbourne. But nic & zq are here to visit (yay!) and we took a break from the city restaurants and quaint little cafes and decided a drive up to mount dandenong would make for a great friday. a very long and winding road later, we were there shrouded in the mist and fog of the forest and took in "christmas in july" up in the mountains.
we had a delish brekkie, trekked through william ricketts sanctuary, went through the little stores and finished off the afternoon with devonshire scones, fresh cream, jam and tea. to say all of us were content was an understatement but it was one of those days you were glad to have because it simply left you... happy.
