i love frank gehry's works. well maybe not his pieces at tiffany's but his architecture have always had me enraptured- whether it was the experience music project in seattle or the dancing houses in prague. His works have a very dali-esque quality about it. Maybe it's the way he makes metal and glass seem so fluid and seamless or that it challenges every pre-conceived notion one might have of what a building should look like. And all at the same time, he treads this delicate balance.. compelling but never jarring. but there's something about the guggenheim in bilbao which just strikes me particularly. there's an amazing compilation of photos by the nyt here and i can only imagine what it must be like to walk through the galleries to all the artworks and to be equally astounded by the building that houses those works. i would think it's one of those experiences you knew possibly couldn't disappoint and that, well is rare.
