I'm not sure why i can't get to sleep but it seems like my brain just can't shut down. Got back from uni at about 1.30am from finishing off the draft for the respondent memo and I was absolutely knackered. But as soon as I was in bed, my mind turned to what topic my hons thesis should be (okay I'm a geek, can we get that out of the way now?). I'm really keen on writing on conflict of laws- jurisdiction clauses and its enforcement because I've written on it before so the thesis would be building up on something I know I'll enjoy working on. Alternatively I could build upon the knowledge I've gained from Vis and explore the procedural madness that goes with arbitral tribunals and supervisory courts i.e. who should stay proceedings?
And so as I tossed and turned in bed, I made a pros and cons list with time being the big issue since I'd only be back in Melb in April which leaves me 2 months to churn a thesis out (eek). But all that thinking (and my skipping dinner earlier) got me hungry so I climbed out of bed and nibbled on some grapes. Before I knew it, I was in front of the laptop with a bowl of soup and croutons. While I haven't come to a decision, I know my Vis experience will be enhanced if I base my thesis on international commercial arbitration. On the other hand, if I do a conflict of laws thesis, I'm already about halfway through....
Hmm, this soup is terrible.
