saturday; 1.01am

We got into the finals in HK (!!) and we're up against Georgetown tomorrow and will be pleading as Claimants which is always slightly more nerve wrecking. Dave and Keren are mooting tomorrow and I am just so excited and anxious for them. Am in the hotel now stealing wireless access from somewhere doing research on US rules on revocation while half the team is off at the Moot bar celebrating Sarah's birthday. I on the other hand am far too tired to drag myself down to the bar so I'm helping with research while Dave and Keren read up on Gerogetown's memorandum.

The General Rounds finally concluded and it was an amazing insight as to what Vienna will probably be like for the rest of us mooting then. I'm a little bit worried that I haven't been doing practice moots as much as we usually do back in Melbourne but the Vienna mooters managed to get approval from Jeff (to my surprise) for 2 practice moots with German teams- Humboldt and Freiburg. Freiburg is really good but generally it was interesting mooting with teams from civil law backgrounds because their attitudes are very different and your arguments have to take a different stance to be persuasive.

Hmm, there's still much research to be done tonight and at least 4 more moots for the HK mooters so I guess I shouldn't be thinking about my moots but I can't help it when the Paris ICC moots are just on Monday (eek!). But the team is always top priority not because that should be the case but because we are. When they announced that we advanced to the final rounds, I welled up with pride and at dinner after for Sarah's birthday, we were making toasts and all I can say is that Vis is the single most defining moment of law school and nothing compares.
