It's been a whirlwind since I've been back. From the comedy festival with the vissies just a day after I was back or celebrating Jeff's birthday (with Sarah finally back) to the awesome thirsty merc + matchbox twenty concert with Fran, it was just great. But on that same note, I also had to get going on my honours thesis which has been rather painful quite honestly. But I think I'm getting into the swing of things and it's all coming along quite alright now.

But when I was at uni just the day before, I watched Elena come into the library all dressed up with her gown and cap for graduation. It was so good to see her after I hadn't for ages but it hit me as well that in just a couple of months I would finally be done with law school! But meanwhile, I'll be inundated with errands, the honours thesis, meeting up with friends I haven't seen in ages and trying to enjoy the last bit of university life.

When I first came to Melbourne, I'd put up a board with my favourite cut-outs, whether it be my favourite pieces of art or photographs. Over the years, concert ticket stubs and post-it reminders have piled on top of warhol's jackie kennedy prints and van gogh's starry starry night. But in the centre it remains, as it always did, a quote I had cut out from a magazine which right now (more than ever) encapsulates where I am in life- "I've kind of worked out what I'm all about. I know what I'm doing".

"Did you write the book of love,
And do you have faith in God above,
If the Bible tells you so?
Do you believe in rock and roll,
Can music save your mortal soul,
And can you teach me how to dance real slow?"
