I'm not good with keeping track of days when I'm travelling hence for the quizzical punctuation. In any case, I'm in Washington DC right now and it has been absolutely amazing. Walking through the gardens of the Korean War Memorial and then past the Jefferson Statue and through to Abraham Lincoln's hall was nothing short of astounding. Seeing the declaration of independence and inaugural speeches etched into the marbled wall of those hallowed halls was a constant reminder that democracy was never free- it was fought for.

New York City and Atlantic City was also great. I had spent one of the nicest arvos I've had in a long while when we were on Liberty Island in New York and though the boat ride past Lady Liberty was reminiscent of the one I took with Jen, Phil and Roman in Paris, it was also very different. New York City is everything I thought it would be and more and I suppose more will be said when I upload my travel journal (if I ever get to it- case in point Prague and Iran travel logs). Atlantic City was tacky at first and I'm sure it had a lot to do with the fact that we were staying at the Trump Taj Mahal. But as soon as I made my way to the boardwalk and took a stroll slong the Atlantic ocean, it was all good. Funnel cakes, saltwater taffy and an interesting (read: plain weird) experience at Ripley's Believe It or Not museum- enough said.

We're off to Buffalo tomorrow, then Montreal and Quebec. Pretty excited about the Maid of the Mist when we're at the falls. After, it'll be to Boston (yay!) and then back to NYC. I'm pretty jetlagged now with sudden bouts of drowsiness in the middle of the day. But loving travelling so far, as always. More soon. Take care sweeties.

"There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup
There's a battle ahead, many battles are lost
But you'll never reach the end of the road
while you're travelling with me"
-don't dream it's over, crowded house
