About Rose: I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

Having recovered from a case of gastric flu and asthma that left me concussed the weekend before, this past weekend more than made up for the fact that I had been feeling miserable. A couple of us girls went for the Spring Races at the Moonee Valley Racecourse and because Karen Millen gave me some tickets, we had access to the fashion event. That meant we got to see the spring/summer fashion from the stores at GPO. I must admit that I wasn't really aware of the horses that were racing and was more interested in the frocks that were on show.

The following night, I had a housewarming and had the vissies over for a murder mystery. So there we were, in 1940's Casablanca with the world war looming over us.

The great weekend finished off with a nice sunday arvo of tennis where I learned that I have a ball toss totally sucks but it's all good because it's great to get into the groove of taking lessons again. And I think I'm due for a quiet weekend in because I'm still pretty wiped out from the last one.
Work is bustling with the release of the all important report by the regulatory authority and it looks like we're going to issue proceedings soon. There's been some talk and I'm really considering being here for the next couple of years to get that grounding and commercial experience. The case I'm on right now will take at least a couple of years in the High Court and will be an amazing to be on just because of the precedence it will set and the scale it's at. I'm not sure how things will pan out in the next couple of months but it looks like I might seriously reconsider my options.
The parents are coming down in a week for graduation and I can't wait to have them over at the new place and to officially graduate (!). Law school's been great but I'm glad its over and that now it's on to different and hopefully better things. Speaking of better things, spring is well underway and there's the massive Thanksgiving dinner I'm immensely looking forward to, the prospect of summer (i.e. the Australian open) and the possible trips that are being planned.
Admittedly, right now life is pretty full on what with working at the law firm full time, doing the college of law (full-time study) and the honours thesis that still remains to be edited for publication (if i ever get to it). Through it all, I've been making a real effort to enjoy life as best as I can and realising the true value in my friends and learning who matters. And while sometimes things have a way of culminating and bogging me down, it totally helps that I have a postcard ll the way from Aachen tacked on my wall :)
