I've had one of those really tough weeks at work being inundated with matters to work on and feeling distressed and at times, overwhelmed and struggling to come to terms with my abilities (or lack thereof) as a lawyer. There are always going to be those people in life that make you doubt yourself and leave you riddled with self-doubt. But every now and then, someone looks out for you with an encouraging text message or goes out of their way to speak up to help you or listens patiently to me, even if I may feel like I'm losing it.

I doubt that the people I work with know how torn and utterly at loss I feel at times. I'm always somewhere in between tired from the long hours and wistful that I've left Den Haag behind. Equally, I doubt they know that them walking into my office to have a chat with me, the inside jokes we share, or the time they take to teach me more than makes up for it. I've always had trouble letting go and this time more so because the last seven months had been the best. But things feel like they're starting to feel better. I know I'll love it here as much as I did at the Permanent Bureau only because there's bake-offs to win, dirndls to fuss about and almond nuts to share.

"I've looked at clouds from both sides now
From up and down, and still somehow
It's cloud illusions I recall
I really dont know clouds at all"
- both sides now, joni mitchell
