About Rose: I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

The year has come and gone so quickly that sometimes I catch myself wondering where it has all gone to. To say it has gone by in a flash sounds so clichéd and yet I can scarcely believe that I spent half the year in The Hague, came back to Melbourne, officially became a lawyer and through all that, grew more into myself.
There were many breathtaking moments in my travels- driving a boat with friends around Capri, walking through the gardens at the Peace Palace, swimming in the Aegean in Greece, Gaudi's buildings in Barcelona and many, many more. But it was also the friends I've made and those that remain in my life, ever present and ever as important. And along the way, there was even someone who took me by the hand, made me laugh and shared long conversations with me.
And as the last few days of the year rolls by, I am going to miss so much of it. I miss how Melbourne used to be with the people that have now either left or, like me, have been engulfed in work. I miss the experiences of being a stagiaire and traipsing across Europe. Most of all, I miss those chocomel moments.
But I'm full of hope for the coming year. I hope that I will always be able to travel and discover new places... I hope to have more faith in my abilities because I will be a better lawyer for it... I hope things won't be bittersweet for long... Most of all, I hope that the following year will be filled with moments of laughter with tears streaming down my cheeks, epicurean adventures and love. Bonne année!
