My Dutch mom, Dory, just emailed me. She is so lovely and I miss everything about her. She was my landlady when I was living in Den Haag and each time I hear from her, it reminds me of afternoons filled with poffertjes!

I met up with the girls for a dinner at Gordon Ramsay's Maze restaurant. The tasting platters, about 11 in all, was an array of amazing taste sensations. Each morsel was delectable and exciting with a burst of flavour with each mouthful. There was the hint of truffles that accompanied the risotto, the lobster in that creamy velouté and the granny smith apple parfait sorbet for dessert that stood out for me.

I think it must have been well over a year since the four of us all met and sat, over dinner, and laughed, cringed and talked till the night wore on. We all started out as friends trying to figure out law school 4 years ago and for the most part we made that journey together. Now we're older, and finally lawyers. I can't wait to see where we'll all be in another 4 years.

please be gentle I'm still learning
you seemed to say as you kept turning up"
