Saturday, 10.41pm

It's been a scorcher of a weekend.  A reminder to all of us that summer is giving us one last weekend of sunshine because before you know it, autumn creeps in.  Summers lease hath all too short a date.

I caught up with Sher today and we spent the afternoon in Armadale scouring through art prints and home wares and trinkets through the many different stores.  How times have changed, how we have changed!  The conversation steers towards career plans, financial investments and oh my, we're such adults now!

I spent the evening with Silvia at the Sidney Myer Music Bowl listening to the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra.  It was one of those perfect summer nights where the temperature finally cools and you feel a breeze cool your skin.  I laid with my back on our picnic blankets at one point and closed my eyes, resting.  I opened them shortly thereafter and noticed the stars across the night sky.  That moment felt so familiar - summer, picnic blankets on the grass, music in the air and the night sky overhead - so much like that July at Champ des Mars.

Days like these remind me why I love being in Melbourne.

"On dit qu'au-delà des mers
Là-bas sous le ciel clair
Il existe une cité, au séjour enchanté
Et sous les grands arbes noirs,
Chaque soir, vers elle s'en va tout moin espoir"
- J'ai Deux Amours, Madeleine Peyroux
