I arrived in London about two weeks ago. This move has been a long time coming and now that it's happened, all I feel is relief. The last few weeks of tying up life in Melbourne was hectic and the first week in London was equally busy with flat viewings, a job interview and trying to get my life sorted.
I have settled in a bit and things appear to be falling in place. I am immensely grateful and cannot wait for this new journey to start.
Before I start work in a couple of weeks, I am trying to take in as much of London as I can. I have seen the red poppies spill out of the Tower of London, discovered the sights at the Columbia Road Flower Market in Shoreditch, and spent afternoons walking through the Tate Britain, Portobello Road and Regent Street.
I could not be more hopeful or excited for the things to come. I have realised however that embracing the new also involves letting go of the old and sometimes the hopes you harboured in that past life. Well, no turning back now.
"So how can you tell me you're lonely
And say for you that the sun don't shine
Let me take you by the hand and show you the streets of London"
