10.02pm; monday

a very strange thing happened just a short while ago. i was thinking about the les misrables show i watched on tv sunday night and i was thinking about the actors. was just musing to myself how i must catch more of gerard depardieu's films because he's quite something and john malkovich was just really good as well. then i started thinking of the actress who played cosette. suddenly, a very random and almost dejavu like thought popped into my head. i thought of that girl who played opposite leonardo di caprio in 'the beach'. i didn't even like that movie and hardly remember anything about it, let alone an almost obscure love interest. you see i wasn't consciously trying to remember who the actress that played cosette was. it turns out to be someone called Virginie Ledoyen, the same actress in 'the beach'. well maybe the thing that triggered my sub-conscious was that les miserables was in french and that leonardo di caprio's love girl in 'the beach' played and was a french native (i somehow remembered this very redundant and pointless piece of movie trivia).

it wasn't a moment of epiphany at all, just one of those strange queer things that happen and you know that people won't quite understand because somehow it happened uniquely to you. i guess we all have our own moments. amazing how my brain stores rather useless information and yet i can't remember what the general principles of chp 7 of the UN charter are. And that, i get reminded of twice, every week.

on another note, the US open drew to a close, i didn't even watch the men's finals. it gets too predictable knowing federer will be hoisting the trophy high in the air at the end. andre agassi is one helluva competitor for sure though. well all the grand slams are done for the year and no more excuses to while my time couching away watching tennis instead of studying i suppose *sigh*. oh, i'm flying back in time for the hari raya weekend this year *yay* no more missing out on the food, cash... oh family too of course, heh.

i hope the monday blues weren't too bad for you. it's going to be a cold week. i really should have basked in the sunshine last week. oh well, it is spring, good weather will come. good things will come my way *crosses fingers*..

"and that laugh that wrinkles your nose
it touches my foolish heart.."
