decided to start off the day early and took rozzie out for brekkie at federation sq. it was a really lovely start to the day and i haven't had one of those in quite a while because the construction work next door tends to put me in a cranky mood when the drilling and hammering starts at half past seven every morning. it's been really great having rozzie over and it's reminiscent of how primary school was for us. we talk so easily, break into fits of laughter and just enjoy ourselves immensely, at least i do!
took her to the restaurant at the acmi on fed sq, along flinders and we sat ourselves down with the straits times (singapore news!) although it was saturday's edition. i started with freshly squeezed apple juice and it was, for once, not the sub-standard, adulterated apple juice you got out of a carton, but someone really juiced the life out of the apple into my cup! realised that rozzie tends to order the savoury sweets for breakfast (french toast with chocolate and raspberries) while i go for the hearty eggs-toast-smoked salmon combo. well, it makes for great sharing!
we walked the meal off under the bluest of skies along the yarra and then later walked through the gardens. the flowers in bloom were the prettiest burst of colours against the lush lawns. we mucked about with the camera and squinted in the glare; oh busy old fool, unruly sun! but soon enough, i had to trot off to sch.
i went to the negotiation grand finals at corrs chambers westgarth tonight and it was quite impressive and a very interesting watch. i guess, every now and then i need to attend such events to remind me of how great law really is and how much i love it. because right now, evidence is just killing me with hearsay. it's pure agony trying to work through all the judicial creativity out and taking note of the dissenting judgments. even int'l organizations is looking a little tedious with lectures spent going through the UN Charter, various articles detailed laboriously. the subtle inflections of the law and conflicts are interesting and engaging but i suppose it's the fact that lects are always at the end of the day and follow from l.e.s. *groans* lectures that i find it tiring sometimes. oh well, i guess this is where the whinging ends. sigh.
