I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

monday; 9.30pm

earlier in the evening, i was sprawled across the couch getting my daily dose of re-runs of gilmore when the fire alarm for the building went off. i told my brother to check the corridors for smoke/ fire but all he saw and heard were puzzled neighbours and doors opening. we decided to get out of the building anyway and as we on our way out, firemen with hard-hats and walkie talkies streamed in while fire trucks with blaring sirens shone their bright lights down the entire street. and as all the residents waited outside the building in the freezing cold, it struck me that this was the first time i'd seen most of my neighbours. eventually, we were ushered back into the building and as we all made our way into the lift and back to our respective apartments, a man made a comment that pretty much encapsulated my feeling the entire time- "save the laptops! save the laptops!"
