i feel like everything whizzes by when i get so caught up with studying for the exams. it strikes me suddenly that the final 8 have made it for roland garros, there are ongoing eu-us-russia talks i have not been able to follow and that it's already winter. it just passes you by. and being up this late usually means that apart from feeling like i'm out of the loop, i'm pensive too.

maybe it's the fact that the past few days have simply be inundated with corps and equity that's adding to this sudden bout of blues. the only respite is the sudden bursts of laughs i have with fran and our dear "rachel nasi uduk" and the men of late night telly i unwind to- jon stewart, colbert, leno and conan. but here i am nonetheless, wondering why things aren't different. granted, "different" could go either way but the shoulda, coulda, woulda bothers me (a lot). and while, surely, everything happens for a reason, the patience it takes to realise why certain things eventuate the way they do can get very trying.

and all i can think about was the last time i felt absolutely carefree- smiling so much till my cheeks hurt, being absolutely enraptured with everything around me and just living it right- when i was in geneva. and while everyday can't be like it is when you travel, some days shouldn't have to be this hard. maybe when i see the dalai lama on friday i'll attain enlightenment or something. meanwhile, i'll just sleep on it.

"but you'll never see the end of the road
while you're travelling with me"
- don't dream it's over, crowded house
