To say the last couple of weeks have been busy is quite an understatement but the weekends always more than make up for it. I watched My Fair Lady at the Arts Centre the weekend before last and it was such a good musical. Eliza Dolittle was quite a character but I have to admit that Guys and Dolls just last Saturday night was definitely the show stopper. It was just so much fun watching Nathan Detroit charm Miss Adelaide and Sky Materson sing his way through Havana. It was such an amazing show. After the theatre, Mim and me decided to check out the Skydeck at the Eureka tower. Standing in a glass cube protruding out of a building 88 storeys high was definitely an experience but the view of Melbourne and the city lights that glowed in the night was such a sight as I looked straight through the glass floors 300metres down. And although the post musical/ theatre dinners after each show was always nothing short of decadent whether it was the street cafe in st kilda, mecca bah at the docklands or pure south on southbank, I think afternoon tea with Mim and Sar at The Hotel Windsor took the cake (pun unintended). Us girls had finger sandwiches, pastries and the pièce de résistance - fresh scones, clotted cream with raspberry/ strawberry jam. And so over conversations that had us laughing and a cup of the house blend tea, it seemed the perfect way to spend an autumn arvo.

Hence, as I spent the next 3 days working through my thesis before its due- checking the countless footnotes and refining every thought, idea and sentence- I'll bear in mind that I've had a great time through it all and true friends who have brought me much comfort. And then there's you too.

"One minute I held the key
Next the walls were closed on me
And I discovered that my castles stand
Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand"
