A JOURNAL

About Rose:
I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

It's been a while! Winter is finally upon us and I suspect it will be especially cold this season considering the weather so far. Plenty has been happening which may explain why I haven't written in a while.  I spent the Easter holidays back in Singapore with my family, returned to Melbourne for a dear friend's wedding, had a great time at the firm's retreat in Healesville and spent a weekend away catching up with some of my friends who defected to Sydney.

I'm two weeks away from spending a month in the northern summer. I'll be back in The Hague for the working group meetings and will spend the following 3 weeks in Paris. I have so many things in mind I can't wait to do (frites het mayo in The Hague, visiting Emilie at her hat store in St Tropez, walking through Monet's gardens in Giverny, spending my birthday on Bastille Day...) I'm not sure how it will all fit in but it will be good to see all my friends again because I miss them.

In the meantime, I will be rugging up for that early morning fishing trip tomorrow, look forward to watching 'Much Ado About Nothing' with Liz and what will no doubt be an awesome Fancy dress party at work at the end of the week.

I feel like I'm in such a good place these days. I feel like my old self. Not that I haven't been, just that things had been feeling a little off-kilter in the past year. I have grown to manage my expectations of others (it's okay to be disappointed, move on), understand that I need time (for myself, to learn..) and enjoy myself (read: work less). On the work front, it's been feeling the way I did when I first started out. And somehow, I seem to have dove-tailed things nicely in finding a way to reconcile my two often disparate interests (finally!). Life is good.

But I know the heart of life is good"
