About Rose: I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

The night before I left Singapore, my best friends surprised me with a soiree (!) where we listened to my favourite Eid songs, ate cheese and revelled in some nostalgia about our friendships and the days gone by. With that came a change of heart of realising I miss the home I grew up in, despite its imperfections. I have grown to realise how exceptional her success has been and have begun to hope that with time, courage and effort, Singapore can change to be the country I yearn for it to be.
I returned from Eid festivities and birthday celebrations in Singapore and Australia, to London where summer is in full swing. With the rare sunshine came the giddy thrill of watching Australia win the second test of the Ashes at Lords, sailing out to Portsmouth to watch the America's Cup World Series and getting spoiled by my London friends with another round of (belated) birthday celebrations. I was whisked away to St Albans for a gorgeous spa day one weekend, and then surprised with dinner and an amazing night in an escape room with another group of fabulous friends earlier this week.
It's been an immensely personal and wonderful time. I hope it lingers!
"And every day some go away Or they find each other in the crowded streets and the guarded parks, By the rusty fountains and the dusty trees with the battered barks, And they walk together past upholstered walls with the crude remarks. And they meet at parties through the friends of friends who they never know. Do I pick you up or do I meet you there or shall we let it go? Did you get my message? 'Cause I looked in vain. Can we see each other Tuesday if it doesn't rain?" - Another hundred people, Company
