About Rose: I grew up in Singapore, lived in Melbourne but currently call London home. I love gastronomic adventures, especially while travelling. I stated writing at 17 to remember how it all began.

I turned 32 recently which ushered in a flurry of activity. It began with dinner with Cara at Primeur the day before my birthday in Stoke Newington. Then the morning of my birthday, my lovely colleagues surprised me with a pasta machine and the all-important "The Silver Spoon" a compendium about Italian cooking. They brilliantly combined my love of food and Master of None. It was also all perfectly thought out to coincide with my upcoming Italian summer adventure!
Things only got better as I had a hearty dinner with friends at Palm Court Brasserie in the evening where glasses clinked and everyone was merry.
We then spent the weekend, just the two of us. We watched Aurdra McDonald play Billie Holiday at the Wyndhams Theatre, woke up Sunday morning with breakfast in bed and took a swim on the rooftop at The Ned. As I leaned into you, we took in the skyline views of the city and St Paul's. I realised I wanted all my Sundays to be just like that, us together emerging out of our sleepy haze and figuring out how we would spend the afternoon. We spent ours that day watching the Wimbledon men's finals at The Waldorf and then reunited with some of my friends who were visiting from New York and San Francisco. You were by far the best part of my birthday.
And I also have a weekend in the country to look forward to where I hope to unwind in the Cotswolds with long missed friends. To be followed the next weekend by what I hope will be sunny afternoons by the coast in Cornwall while wandering through the Tate at St Ives, discovering Babara Hepworth's home, and tucking into many a Cornish pasty, crab sandwich and ice cream.
I am ever so grateful, for such adventures and more importantly friends and a love to share it with. All of whom care for me patiently and unconditionally.
