It's been a hard couple of months with Ramadan coinciding with preparation for the DC that was preceded by a huge meeting in Munich.

I emerged from May into June feeling deflated and missing home enormously, wishing I could spend Eid with my family.

I was so overcome by exhaustion and forlorn but was lifted with the kindest words that I hang onto as he is ever so far away in Arizona at the moment. I just wanted to take the time to write this down so I remember how much it all meant in that moment where I felt so far away and so alone..

Dear Rose, Happy Eid. I know how much you want to be with your family this year and I am sorry that you are unable to make it there. I know that I am also not there to celebrate with you but I will be home soon and we can celebrate a delayed Eid when I am back. Missing you and look forward to talking to you later David x
